Suffolk County DA to Present Check to Roslindale Nonprofit Wednesday

The check derives from seized drug money and will benefit a local teen program.

Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley on Wednesday will present a check in seized drug money to the Washington Beech Housing Development's Summer Teen program in Roslindale.

The $4,000 check is the last of 17 such awards presented to nonprofits groups throughout Boston, Chelsea, Revere and Winthrop totaling more than $60,000 in assets seized from drug traffickers, according to the DA's office.

The Washington Beech Teen Program plans to put the money toward a program that intervenes in the lives of city kids and teens at risk for drug use and low academic achievement through the West Roxbury YMCA.
