North Street Closed Due to Water Break: Police
An early morning water main break closed several roads around the Salem and Peabody line.
SALEM, MA — Salem police are reporting that North Street is closed between Highland Street and Oakland Street through the morning commute due to a water main break. Police announced the break at around 4 a.m. on Facebook, and later announced that service had been returned to most of the area.
At 4 p.m., Salem police said via Facebook that the road would be open within the next few hours. The closure is expected to impact some of the evening commute.
Police strongly advised residents to seek an alternate route.
