Outdoor Dining Options on the North Shore

Salem has many places that offer outside dining.

At the , many customers prefer the outside area. During the week, the area seats eight tables, but on weekend nights and Sunday afternoons it serves 16 tables in the outside area.

Get there while you can, because come October outside no longer an option because of the weather, said Sarah Stellato, front of the house manager.

At , the second floor deck provides some fun in the sun. The deck overlooks the water and busser Eric Yonkus said, “it’s the best view on the waterfront.”

Sylvia Kaufman, a server at said her establishment has one of the best views of the water in Salem. It looks out onto Pickering Wharf and let’s customer unwind and relax.

If you’re tired at staring at the ocean, check out . Bartender extraordinaire Greg Racine has been working there for almost four years and calls the patio the best area for people watching. There’s full bar service outside, Ravine said.

For a more private area check out . According to host Rot Barrientos, the patio area is covered by trees and flowers. “People love it,” Barrientos said. “ You have a little area just for you and your family to talk. It almost feels like home.”

Swampscott

In Swampscott, there’s Red Rock which offers customers the best of both worlds. There’s an outside patio area that’s more like a courtyard with a garden, but if you want the ocean in your view, you can do that, too. Smoking is allowed in the garden area as well as cocktails. But, if you’re there for food, the oceanfront patio is where they serve dinner.

Marblehead

In Marblehead at The Landing, there’s delicious seafood and a large outside deck that sits right on the Marblehead Harbor. “It’s incredibly busy during the summer,” said Stephen Carter, dining room manager. The deck is also open during winter months. To keep from getting too cold there are heaters, said Carter.  “Its beautiful. You're sitting on a beautiful view of Marblehead,” Carter said. “There's no better place on the North Shore.”
