SALEM, MA — For the third time in a week some Salem residents are dealing with a water shutoff or discolored water because of a main break.
The latest leak report is on an 8-inch water main on Sumner Road. The Salem Department of Public Services said crews Thursday morning were conducting an investigation to determine whether a wider shutoff and repairs were needed.
The water main at Sumner Road from Preston Road to Bradley Road was shut off Friday morning with residents in the area told to expect brown or discolored water. The three hydrants will also be affected with brown water in the Sumner Street area.
