Police Identify 2 Killed in Fiery Swansea Crash
Taunton residents Katrina Gomes, 22, and Joseph Vodden, 19, were killed Thursday. A third victim, Nicholas Hopper, 20, was seriously hurt.

Police identified the two people killed in a fiery crash in Swansea Thursday as Taunton residents Katrina Gomes, 22, and Joseph Vodden, 19.
Good Samaritans pulled a third man—Nicholas Hopper, 20, of Taunton—to safety as their vehicle was on fire, according to police. Gomes was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt on Route 195 when at about 11 p.m. the vehicle veered into the median, struck a tree, and burst into flames.
Hopper suffered serious injuries. Police said the haven’t determined why the vehicle left the road.
