New Sharon Pizzeria Prefers All-Alcohol License to Package Store One

Mangia Neapolitan Pizzeria would give up its beer and wine license if allowed to serve alcohol to be consumed at its restaurant.

A new Sharon Center pizzeria would relinquish its package store license if Sharon grants it an all-alcohol license, owner Steve Fenerjian said today.

That possibility hinges first on a vote at Monday night's annual town meeting.

One request asks voters to have selectmen file a home rule petition with the Legislature to reduce the seating requirement for restaurants and function rooms licensed to sell alcohol for consumption there, from 50 to 18. Town meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the l auditorium.

The Sharon restaurant is expected to open on South Main Street, near the Sharon Post Office, shortly.
