Sharon's Andrew Lelling Confirmed As Mass. U.S. Attorney
Lelling is a 16-year veteran of the Department of Justice.

SHARON, MA – The United States Senate on Thursday confirmed Sharon resident Andrew Lelling as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, the USAO said. Lelling, a 16-year veteran of the U.S. Department of Justice, served first in the Civil Rights Division and then as an assistant U.S. attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia and the District of Massachusetts. He was nominated by President Trump to the head of the Massachusetts district in September.
"I am honored to be confirmed as the United States Attorney and I look forward to serving the residents of Massachusetts," Lelling said in a statement. "As a federal prosecutor I have had the privilege of working with some of the best federal and state law enforcement officers in the country. As U.S. Attorney, I will continue to collaborate with these distinguished public servants to fulfill the mission of the Department of Justice."
Lelling's background includes the prosecution of complex frauds, international drug trafficking and immigration offenses, according to the USAO. He recently led the successful prosecution of a pyramid scheme by TelexFree, Inc., which involved nearly two million victims worldwide who lost over $3 billion. The case was one of the largest pyramid schemes prosecuted by the Justice Department.

Prior to serving as a federal prosecutor, Lelling was a Counsel to the Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division, where his cases included voting rights enforcement and civil rights-related criminal prosecution. He was a law clerk in Georgia and worked in private practice before joining the Justice Department in 2001.
