$1M Lottery Prize Claimed In Shrewsbury
The woman said she plans to use the money to invest and purchase a new home.

SHREWSBURY, MA — A large lottery prize was sold at a liquor store in town last week.
Colleen Sweet won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” instant ticket game. The Shrewsbury woman chose the cash option and received a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes, which was claimed on Friday.
The odds of winning a prize of that size in that game are one in more than 2.5 million. Eight $1 million prizes have been claimed, and two are still up for grabs.

Meanwhile, five people have claimed the five available $2 million prizes from the “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” game.
Sweet told the Massachusetts Lottery Commission that she plans to use the money to invest and purchase a new home.

She purchased the ticket at Turnpike Liquors, at 166 Boston Post Rd. In Shrewsbury. The store will not get a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticker.
