The held a public hearing to discuss a new business coming to town: Cash for Gold, from Salem NH.
Last night, the selectmen learned that the Cash for Gold business, expected to move into 131 Boston Tpke., would only buy gold on their premises.
The selectmen are the issuing body for a junk dealer's license, which is required for any jeweler in town.

While selectmen asked about how log the jewelry would be held at the store and how the owners have worked with the police to find any stolen jewelry, one neighboring business was concerned about parking and competition among jewelers in the area.
After a discussion among selectmen about whether or not to close the public hearing, the selectmen voted unanimously to approve the license for the business.

In other business, the selectmen:
- appointed Larry Barbash and Martha Gash to the Open Space and Recreation Committee.
- appointed Paula Lupton and Christine Gustafson to the Historic District Commission.
- re-appointed Constables Rajoo Ananth and James McDonald.
- approved a Class I license for Northland Industrial Truck Company.
The selectmen went into executive session without coming back into open session.
