Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Students at have been working hard to get ready for their production of Annie, which will be performed at the school at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2. According to Nancy Freeman, who is producing the show with Donna Nelson, the performance consists of 64 cast and crew members and 14 pit members including the music director Bryant Clark. Students began rehearsals in April, she said. The play is based on the book by Charles Meehan, with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin. The show is being directed by Jennifer Micarelli-Webb. Maryfrances Fabbri is in charge of costuming, Helen Hummer is in charge of publicity, Karla Eversis is heading the programs and Kim Wackal is organizing the cast party, according to Freeman. Tickets, which will be available at the auditorium door, are $12 for adults and $10 for senior citizens and students.
