
Police are looking for a suspect who robbed Commerce Bank on Monday morning.
On Dec. 17, at 10:33 a.m. Shrewsbury Police responded to a reported bank robbery at Commerce Bank located at 226 Boston Turnpike (Route 9).
When police arrived, the lone robber had fled the bank with an undetermined amount of cash. The suspect had entered the bank and passed a note that demanded cash, said police.

No weapon was shown and no one was injured as a result of the robbery.
The suspect is described as a white male, mid-30s, approximately six feet, skinny build with a reddish scruffy beard. The suspect, said police, was wearing a dark colored “Carhartt” style jacket with a gray hood and white baseball hat.

Shrewsbury Officers searched the area along with the Shrewsbury Police K-9 for approximately two hours but the suspect eluded police. Massachusetts State Police assisted at the crime scene.
