Date to Run in Town Election Passed, Clerk Says 'Everyone Was Informed'
Originally, the date to turn in nominations papers was March 19, but was moved to March 12.

Either way, the date has now passed to run as a candidate in the annual town election, happening on April 30 (moved from the original date of May 7). Shrewsbury Patch will post the final candidates list on Thursday.
March 12 was the official deadline for nomination papers to be turned into the clerk's office, the date moved from the original March 19 deadline.
But Shrewsbury resident Daniel Zuba said he was unaware of the deadline, and missed the official timestamp on turning in his candidacy filing to run for School Committee.

"I am disappointed to see that the date was changed without letting Daniel know, as he pulled papers and they have his address," said Daniel's wife Jennifer Zuba. "I also find it interesting that he is the only one running against the incumbents, and hence he is the only one who was not informed of the date change. His papers were turned in March 14, five days before the March 19 deadline we were given. And the town office has been unhelpful in remedying the situation."
Shrewsbury Patch checked with Town Clerk Sandy Wright, who confirmed that "everyone who took out nomination papers was sent a notice by first class mail" informing them of the date change. "Also, all current town meeting members and town meeting members up for re-election were notified." In addition, Wright said the date change notice was posted on the town's website, sent out on the town's list serve, and posted in the Telegram and Gazette.
