Kindergarteners Enjoy Beal Singalong

Every Friday, the Beal students sing together as a school for part of their music program.

The weekly singalong at builds community while incorporating academic content such as counting, according to Principal Alice Brennan.

The school has two singalongs every Friday, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Roughly 140 children participated in the afternoon singalong last Friday, Brennan said.

While singing songs such as the National Anthem, Alligator in the Elevator, the Star-Spangled Banner, Row Your Boat and songs about the four seasons and the days of the week, the singalong also celebrates students' birthdays with song.

This week, the birthday students were Emma Corriveau and Racit Patel. The previous week, Hannah Hight's 6th birthday was celebrated and her mother, Kathy Hight, said her daughter loves singalong.

"It's a nice little program that they have," she said.
