Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Shrewsbury High School will begin an annual athletic awards evening this May.  All of the special athletic awards, most valuable player recognitions and senior awards will be given out during one athletic awards event on Sunday, May 22 at 5pm in the High School Commons.  This new event will also include a guest speaker, probably chosen from the SHS Athletic Hall of Fame.  Coaches from all three seasons will assist in honoring their athletes.  Families will be able to sit together at tables and enjoy light refreshments as the student athletes are recognized for their achievements and contributions.  This event will surely become an exciting annual tradition for Shrewsbury High School athletes and their families.﻿
