Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

If you have always wanted to grow your own food, herbs and flowers, join the <a href="http://www.towerhillbg.org" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Tower Hill Botanic Garden</a> to learn several easy, low-tech ways to get started at home this season.  The Tower Hill Botanic Garden (11 French Drive, Boylston) is hosting an Indoor Seed Starting workshop on Saturday, Feb. 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  The workshop will help you explore seed catalogues and show you how to order the best tasting and most floriferous options.  The workshop will also teach you about timing, techniques, record keeping, equipment and indoor light stands.   Each participant will transplant seedlings into larger containers to take home for further growth.  The workshop will take an organic approach to seed starting, including troubleshooting tips.  The workshop cost is $35 for members and $40 for non-members.
