Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

Come together to create a comic strip or your own graphic novel.  Students will review many comic strips and brainstorm ideas.  You may bring your own favorite comic strip or graphic novel. Instructor: Mrs. DePalo (Room 161) Classes are only open to Oak Middle School students. Course registration: Nov. 1 – 12 Payment is due at registration.  <a href="http://schools.shrewsbury-ma.gov/egov/docs/1288623172_165496.pdf" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Registration form</a>.  Only checks will be accepted, payable to Shrewsbury Public Schools.  If specific materials are needed for the course, students will be responsible for a small materials fee, not to exceed $5. Classes must meet minimum enrollments in order to take place.  Students will be contacted only if a class is not offered due to low enrollment.  Classes will meet on in-session school days, not on early release days, vacation, holidays or parent conference days.  Scholarships are available on an as-needed basis.  Students must arrange own transportation.﻿
