SoundLab: Make Your Own Waves (Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony)

"Explore the science of vibration and the joy of making music in our newest exhibit, SoundLab. Record a script, a song or a jingle in our Recording Booth, and see your unique voice print on our oscilloscope. Manipulate your recording and see how your sound print changes! Try out our Mixing Studio and see what it is like to be a recording engineer:  select a narrative recording and choose from a wide range of background music and sound effects. Combine the tracks and record your final masterpiece to play back for others. Work in our Instrument Lab to create and play unique wind, percussion and string instruments in a variety of ways. Make music with our electronic Air Harp by choosing musical sounds from all over the world and waving your hands to break invisible beams of light that create the sounds. Enjoy classic favorites including the Rubber Ball Music Wall and the Tuning Fork Booth to round out your exploration of the science and creative aspects of sound. SoundLab is made possible through the generous support of Harvey M. Eisenberg, The Sudbury Foundation and Bose Corporation."

This program is free with admission.
