After an extremely successful first session of You Go, Girl Afterschool, the staff at Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services has decided to run a longer, second session of the program beginning after the holidays.
The 14 week program will again take place at the Boroughs YMCA in Westboro on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 and is open to girls from Northboro, Southboro, Westboro, and Shrewsbury ages 10-12.
Topics covered will include positive female relationship skills, self-esteem/body image, peer pressure, bullying, team building, leadership skills and healthy living. Important skills are integrated into the fun activities for facilitate learning.

During the previous session, the girls participated in a variety of activities including baking, rock climbing, arts and crafts, and playing sports. They also developed close friendships over the course of the program.
