UPDATE: Fire on Walnut Hill Lane: Three People Displaced
Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to a fire on Walnut Hill Lane.
Three people, and their two dogs, got out safely but are displaced tonight after a fire broke out in their home at 15 Walnut Hill Lane.
Shrewsbury Fire Department responded to the first alarm shortly after 8 p.m. on Wednesday, arriving to a scene to involved having to call an engine that could climb up the steep dirt road leading to the house, which sits at the end of Walnut Hill Lane.
Captain Sean Lawlor said the structure fire possibly started in an electrical box; firefighters heard pops from the box, indicating it "either started there or there were devices involved."

Three people and two dogs waited outside when firefighters arrived.
"Because we couldn't get access to the road, we had to wait for an engine with a tack line to get up there," said Captain Lawlor.

The fire extended from the back corner of the house near the back porch and expanded to the second floor.
Firefighters knocked down the majority of the fire in 15 minutes.
There were no injuries.
The cause is still undetermined and is under investigation, and the town's electrical inspector and state fire marshals were called to the scene.
