In Court: Man Throws Bottle at Car
A Shrewsbury man is facing charges after a road rage incident in town this weekend.

A Shrewsbury man was arrested after throwing a bottle out of his car after a road rage incident in town.
Daniel Mahoney, 20, of 35 Merrill Ave., Shrewsbury was arrested on June 17 by and charged with two counts of defacing property, littering trash from a motor vehicle and being a minor in possession of liquor.
On Sunday, at 7:49 p.m., Mahoney alleged threw a bottle out of a car in which he was the passenger, hitting another car and damaging its hood. According to the police report, he was reported to be yelling at another motorist at 8:19 p.m. in a suspected road rage incident. Witnesses provided the car type and license plate number.

Police tracked the car at 8:23 p.m. with its windshield broken. The driver of the car said that Mahoney kicked the windshield until it broke. She also said that he threw a bottle at another vehicle. Police found Mahoney on Shrewsbury Green Drive. He was arrested and placed into protective custody. Virzi ordered him to stay away from the victim and scheduled a pretrial hearing for July 19.
