Increased Water Rates In Effect: $21 for 5,000 Gallons

The town of Shrewsbury put in its new water rates into effect Nov. 1.

Residential charges:

Minimum (0 to 5,000 gallons) $21 base charge

5,001 to 25,000 gallons  $3.40/thousand gallons

25,001 to 60,000 gallons   $6.30/thousand gallons

Over 60,000 gallons      $10/thousand gallons

Condominimums:

Minimum (0 to $5,000 gallons) $21 base charge

5,001 to 25,000 gallons  $3.40/thousand gallons

25,001 to 60,000 gallons   $6.30/thousand gallons

Over 60,000 gallons      $10/thousand gallons

Commercial:

Minimum (0 to 5,000 gallons)  $36 base charge

5,001 to 25,000 gallons       $2.80/thousand gallons

25,001 to 60,000 gallons    $3.80/thousand gallons

Over 60,000 gallons      $3.80/thousand gallons

Apartments:

Flat rate/thousand  $4.25/thousand gallons
