Judge Rules in Favor of Dog
Dugg, a 3-year-old pit bull will not be euthanized thanks to a judge's ruling.
After an eight-month court battle, Dugg, a 3-year-old pit bull, will not be put to death for attacking another dog in September, who died from its injuries from the attack.
Judge David Locke ruled that Dugg is a nuisance, but stayed the order to euthanize Dugg by the Board of Selectmen on Friday.
The owners, Lisa and Christopher O'Connor, of 14 Knowlton Ave., will have to comply with the judge's following orders:

- The owners must maintain existing fencing together with the improvements they testified to at the hearing.
- Dugg may only be outside of the residence in the fenced enclosure and be at all times muzzled.
- Dugg must be crated and muzzled when transported from the home.
- All gates in the enclosure must be padlocked when Dugg is outside.
- The animal control officer must be allowed access to the residence and the fenced enclosure to inspect and enforce these orders.
- The town counsel may file a motion to revoke the stay if the O'Connors don't comply with the above orders.
