Local Woman Complains Post Office Didn't Fly Flag at Half-Staff
A woman was appalled today when she didn't see the flag lowered at the local post office.

Dorrie Maynard, who lives in Worcester, was concerned on Tuesday when she stopped to mail something at the Shrewsbury Post Office and saw that the flag there was not at half-staff.
Posting on Facebook, she wrote, "When I asked the kid why, he said, 'We didn't get an order to do it.' I said that the president gave the order and as a government building it should have been done!! Cannot believe I am the only one that noticed."

Maynard said that when she left the post office, she was so upset that she called the town offices in Shrewsbury and spoke to a selectmen, who was "just as surprised."
"I said it was a matter of respect and he agreed and said he would take care of it," said Maynard. I did my good deed for the day and shame on the employees of the post office and the people of shrewsbury for not noticing and doing something abut it sooner!"
