Elsie Kaye Artisan Gifts & Flamework Studio

Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

The community is asking for families and friends of Aaditya Basrur, the 7-year-old boy who died after an accident at summer camp, two weeks ago. "We came to the today to ask if anyone was interested in sharing their memories of Aaditya," said Paton School Principal Jayne Wilkins who had a table set up at the entrance of Floral Street School along with Joan Carlson, who would have been Aaditya's teacher next year and Coreen Hawley, a first grade teacher at Paton School. "We've heard from the community and we asked the family if they would like us to do this so we'll be putting this together for them." Memories can also be sent to Paton School, 58 Grafton St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545. And if you have questions, you can call Wilkins at the school at 508-841-8626.
