Shrewsbury residents are jumping to take advantage of early voting in Massachusetts.

SHREWSBURY, MA—For the first time ever in Massachusetts, voters have a chance to vote early for the presidential and state election, and for some towns and cities, its residents have jumped at the opportunity.

As of Thursday, Shrewsbury Town Clerk Sandy Wright said 1,869 early voter ballots have been processed since early voting began on Monday, Oct. 24.

"Early voting has been going great," said Wright. "The voters love it. They like the idea of not waiting in line at polls and the parking problem in some of the precincts."
