Police Log: Stuck in an Elevator; BOLO For Attempted Murder Suspect
The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Friday, Aug. 24
8:42 a.m.: Police checked on a man who was walking across Route 9. The man was shopping and returning home.
1:26 p.m.: The owner of a business on Route 9 was reporting harassing text messages from a former employee. Police left a no trespass order on the suspect's cell phone, and took a report.

1:44 p.m.: A caller requested an officer to check on the well-being of a male that seemed disoriented and was picking up tooks that belonged to a contractor working at 118 Boston Tpke. The man was last seen headed toward the green with a knife in his back pocket. Police responded and were unable to locate the man.
3:30 p.m.: The manager of Chili's on Route 9 reported a larceny. The suspect was last seen walking on Route 9 westbound. Police responded and spoke to the suspect. A no trespass order was issued.

3:41 p.m.: The Fire Department was requested to 290 East before Exit 23A for a tractor-trailer unit with tires fully engulfed.
8:02 p.m.: A caller from Commons Drive called police to report a baby was screaming from the apartment above him. Police responded; all was fine, it was just a 4-year-old crying.
11:27 p.m.: A loud party was reported on Summer Street. Police responded and found a man had two friends over; there was no party. The man was spoken to.
11:42 p.m.: Police pulled over a vehicle on Route 9 by North Quinsigamond, and issued a citation along with violations for no seat belts.
Saturday, Aug. 25
12:13 a.m.: A caller reported a loud party at Madison Place. The homeowner was spoken to.
12:46 a.m.: Nagaphanindr Babu Munnangi, 27, of 5 Brady Rd. Ext., Westborough, was arrested on Boston Turnpike and Maple Avenue and charged with speeding, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and operating under the influence of liquor.
3:31 a.m.:
10:10 a.m.: A person was stuck in an elevator at 64 Holden St. The responded and assisted.
11:38 a.m.: Gunshots were reported in the Edgewater Avenue area. Police responded; the complaint was unfounded.
4:37 p.m.: Police were doing radar on Route 20 and Purinton Street; five citations or warnings were issued in the next hour.
5:09 p.m.: A caller reported a dog was dead in the road on Camelot Drive. Animal Control was contacted.
5:31 p.m.: A caller from Sandpiper Drive returned home from vacation to find items missing from his/her house. Police responded.
5:44 p.m.: A caller from Surrey Lane reported kids were in the yard being loud and had been spraying water from the house "for some time now." Police responded to the area and spoke to the caller.
7:12 p.m.: Amilcar Barahona, 25, of 20 Winslow St., Apt. 2, Worcester, was arrested in the area of 271 Boston Tpke. and charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, giving a false ID following an arrest, and giving a false name to police.
8:27 p.m.: The Fire Department responded to 407 Grafton St. for the reoprt of an animal locked in a motor vehicle.
11:01 p.m.: A caller said youths in the area of 77 O'Donnell Ave. were causing a disturbance. Police spoke to the homeowner, who said he would quiet down for the night.
11:31 a.m.: Police were doing radar on Route 9 and issued six citations/warnings in an hour.
Sunday, Aug. 26
2:26 a.m.: A 911 caller stated multiple males in the area of 48 Ireta Rd. were yelling, and possibly fighting. Police responded and took two Shrewsbury men into protective custody.
9:48 a.m.: A caller from South Quinsigamond requested to speak with an officer about a cigarette found in his/her yard. The party was spoken to.
10:07 a.m.: A person went to the station to request an officer retrieve ammunition that was left behind on foreclosed property on Sewell Street. Police responded and entered the ammunition into evidence.
12:27 p.m.: A three-car motor vehicle crash with injury was reported in the area of 420 Hartford Tpke. One person was taken to UMass.
2:22 p.m.: A caller from 90 Edgemere Blvd. said an unleashed pitbull ran after his motor vehicle. Police responded; the dog was gone. Witnesses said the dog had been tied to a pole.
5:47 p.m.: A caller said her wallet was stolen while shopping at 50 Boston Tpke. Police took a report.
7:42 p.m.:
8:06 p.m.: There were multiple calls for gunshots/fireworks in the area of 109 Prospect St. Police responded and the fireworks had stopped. The suspects were not located.
8:42 p.m.: A caller reported someone took her purse when she left it on the floor at 31 Boston Tpke.
8:47 p.m.: Youths were removed from the area of 29 Maple Ave. All four youths received no trespass orders.
