Police Log: Teens Arrested, Mom Withholds Pay From Son
The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 14
7:45 a.m.: Illegal dumping was witnessed on Melody Lane. A witness got a license plate number. Police were going to be filing a report.
9:27 a.m.: Animal Control responded to St. James Road for the report of a chipmunk trapped in the basement. The chipmunk was removed.

12:42 p.m.: Police responded to an unattended death at a residence on Hartford Turnpike.
4:37 p.m.: A caller reported that a car was left with dogs inside at 87 Boston Tpke. Animal Control responded. The car was left with windows open in the shade and the dogs did not appear to be in distress.

4:57 p.m.: A caller reported a loose dog in the backyard on Crescent Street with no tags. The caller was unable to contain the dog. Animal Control responded and did not find the dog.
7:42 p.m.: A caller reported five teenagers were on the side of the building at 87 Boston Tpke., kicking objects and creating a disturbance. Police responded and the teens were picked up by their parents.
9:35 p.m.: Police were out with a suspicious person on Maple Avenue. Pawel Pardo, 17, of 36 Hapgood Wy., Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with trespassing.
Saturday, Sept. 15
8:13 a.m.: A caller said his son was at a location on Redland Street causing a disturbance. Police responded and were advised the party was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Oak Street, where property damage had occurred. Police took a report and took the man to UMass for an evaluation.
9 a.m.: Police received a report of heavy smoke coming from a house on Davis Way. The Fire Department responded and found the smoke was from a leaf blower.
11:56 a.m.: A caller from Redland Street wanted to speak to an officer about his mom, who was also his boss, not giving him his paycheck.
3:25 p.m.: Two teenagers were reportedly making threats to passers-by on Florence Street. The calling party called back to report the teens were picked up; the caller gave a license plate to police. An officer checked the area and followed up with the caller.
3:55 p.m.: A caller from Boston Turnpike reported her roommate was assaulting her 18-year-old son. Herbert J. Merrill Jr., 59, of 788 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery.
6:45 p.m.: Stephan Gattoni, 17, of 41 Sheridan Dr., Apt. 10, Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with being a person under 21 in possession of liquor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of children. He was arrested in the area of 785 Main St.
6:48 p.m.: A caller reported hearing gunshots in the area of 21 Florence St. Police responded and located fireworks; the parties were advised.
6:58 p.m.: Police received a call from a woman on South Quinsigamond; she said her daughter was being unruly and she wanted her removed. Police responded and gave the woman her rights; it was a dispute between the woman and her minor child. Police filed a report.
7 p.m.: A caller reported dogs had been barking in the area of 707 South St. for the last few hours. Police responded. Dogs had been left outside and no one was home at the residence. The animal control officer was notified by email.
7:52 p.m.: The Fire Department put out a mulch fire at 261 Grafton St.
9:31 p.m.: A woman fled from a vehicle on foot, in the area of 21 South Quinsigamond. Sarah White, 25, of 46 Bedford Ave., Worcester, was arrested and charged with failure to stop, resisting arrest, possession of a Class A drug, operating with a suspended license, disturbing the peace and disorderly conduct.
