Police Log: Animal Control Edition
We noticed an awful lot of animal-related complaints this week in Shrewsbury.

Wild and domestic animals keep Shrewsbury police and the Animal Control officer busy. Looking back at the police logs for the last week, we found quite a few calls that requested police assistance with our furry and/or flying friends.
On Friday, Sept. 14:
- Animal Control responded to St. James Road for the report of a chipmunk trapped in the basement. The chipmunk was removed.
- A caller reported that a car was left with dogs inside at 87 Boston Tpke. Animal Control responded. The car was left with windows open in the shade and the dogs did not appear to be in distress.
- A caller reported a loose dog in the backyard on Crescent Street with no tags. The caller was unable to contain the dog. Animal Control responded and did not find the dog.

- A caller reported dogs had been barking in the area of 707 South St. for the last few hours. Police responded. Dogs had been left outside and no one was home at the residence. The animal control officer was notified by email.
On Sunday, Sept. 16:
- Police received two calls about a vulture in the area of Prospect Street and Fox Hill Road. The bird was found eating in the area.
On Monday, Sept. 17:

- Animal Control responded to 707 South St. for the report of three dogs barking outside. No one was home. The officer left a tag on the door, asking the homeowner to call police.
- Animal Control investigated a complaint about barking dogs at 4 Hillside Ln. No one was home and the complaint was unfounded.
