Police Log: Assault and Battery Arrest

The incidents and arrests from April 8 to April 9.

Friday, April 8:

7:34 a.m.: The police requested a tow for an unregistered car near the corner of Route 9 and Cherry Street.

7:48 a.m.: Paramedics responded to 11 Shady Lane Avenue for an elderly man who possibly broke his hip from a fall. The man was taken by ambulance to St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester.

8:11 a.m.: A person in the lobby reported her car got hit last night at 1000 Boston Tpke. in a parking lot. Police took a report after the woman reported the license plate of the other car involved in the hit and run accident.

10:52 a.m.: A caller reported a dispute happening on Spring Street. Police talked to the people involved and helped settle the issue.

11:31 a.m.: A caller reported a driver unloading a truck carrier at 3 Elm St., which is a violation of the business license. When police responded, there was no carrier on the street or in the parking lot.

11:52 a.m.: Paula F. Sullivan, 37, of 169 Washington St., Apt. 2, Worcester, was arrested at 92 Old Mill Rd., Shrewsbury, and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (civil) and three charges on a warrant.

12:49 p.m.: A caller from 785 Main Street reported a possible sick skunk in the area. The animal control officer was advised of the situation, but the skunk went into the woods.

12:59 p.m.: A caller reported an erratic driver near Route 9 and South Quinsigamond Avenue. The caller gave an incorrect license plate and when police responded, the driver was gone.

1:33 p.m.: A caller reported that a group of youths were throwing rocks into the valet parking area of UMASS at 26 Dewey Road. Police responded and spoke to the youths involved.

1:42 p.m.: Police stopped a car at 300 Oak St. and issued a written warning.

2:16 p.m.: A caller reported an erratic driver near 845 Hartford Tpke. Police investigated and determined the complaint was unfounded.

4:02 p.m.: A caller from Lakeside Drive reported a dog continuously barking at 21 Lakeside Dr. When the animal control officer responded, no one was at home. She will contact the owner later.

4:19 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious person wearing a red shirt and possibly dark shorts at 20 Boston Tpke. When the police responded, they could not locate the man.

4:29 p.m.: A two-car accident was reported at 575 Hartford Tpke. One vehicle was towed and one of the drivers weas issued a criminal application and a police report will follow.

4:32 p.m.: A caller from Sterling Street reported receiving threatening phone calls from another woman. All parties were spoken to by police.

5:18 p.m.: A 911 caller reported an elderly man had swallowed small pieces of glass on Cortland Grove Drive. The patient refused treatment after fire and emergency personnel responded.

5:35 p.m.: A caller from Wachusett Circle reported two men driving go-karts without helmets. When police arrived, the two men were gone.

5:39 p.m.: A caller reported an elderly woman at Julio Drive suffered injuries from a fall. Fire and EMS responded and transported the woman to UMASS Medical Center, Worcester.

5:43 p.m.: A caller from Edgewater Avenue reported a white Jeep Cherokee damaged a fence and left the accident scene. When police arrived, the homeowner said they do not wish to file a report.

5:45 p.m.: A driver near Route 9 and Maple Avenue was stopped by police and issued a written warning.

5:59 p.m.: A caller reported that their car was damaged while parked at 1000 Boston Tpke. The owner of the car decided not to file a report.

6:21 p.m.: A caller from Woodway Drive reported a woman soliciting for lawn care service. When police arrived, the woman was gone.

7:20 p.m.: A caller reported an elderly man passed out in the parking lot of 380 Maple Ave. Fire and EMS arrived and transported the man to UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

8:03 p.m.: A 911 caller reported an elderly man suffered injuries from a fall at 465 Boston Tpke. Fire and EMS responded and the man was transported to UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

8:27 p.m.: A driver was stopped at 1000 Boston Tpke. and given a verbal warning.

8:42 p.m.: A caller reported her elderly mother may be having a stroke on Maple Avenue. Fire and EMS responded and the woman was transported to UMASS Medical Center, Worcester.

8:51 p.m.: A driver was stopped at 50 Boston Tpke. and issued a civil citation.

8:55 p.m.: A driver was stopped at 1000 Boston Tpke. and issued a written warning.

9:17 p.m.: A driver was stopped at 411 Hartford Tpke. and given a verbal warning.

9:20 p.m.: A driver was sopped at the corner of Route 20 and Stoney Hill Road and issued a civil citation.

9:59 p.m.: A driver was stopped at 307 Hartford Tpke. and issued a civil citation.

Saturday, April 9:

12:54 a.m.: Police responded to 571 Boston Tpke. and found a man going through a dumpster. The man was sent on his way.

1:07 a.m.: A diabetic man with lower back pain was taken from Walnut Street to St. Vincent's Hospital in Worcester by EMS.

1:15 a.m.: A driver was stopped at the corner of Route 9 and South Street and issued a civil citation.

1:31 a.m.: Richard B. Kramek, Jr., 44, of 28A Dewey Rd., Shrewsbury, was arrested at 9 Hazel Ave., Shrewsbury, and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

7:05 a.m.: Medics responded to 22 Bruce Ave. for an elderly woman with difficulty breathing. Fire and EMS responded and transported the woman to St. Vincent's Hospital, Worcester.

8:05 a.m.: A caller reported being locked out of their house at 7 Roberts St. Fire and police responded and opened the door.

8:28 a.m.: An elderly woman with an altered mental status from 311 Main St. was taken by EMS to UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

8:42 a.m.: A caller from O'Donnell Avenue reportedly made a 911 call, but was attempting to dial overseas. Police confirmed the misdial.

8:51 a.m.: EMS took an elderly woman with difficulty breathing from Elm Street to UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

10:15 a.m.: A one-car accdient with no injuries was reported at Green Street.

10:17 a.m.: EMS and Fire responded to 144 South Quinsigamond Ave. for an elderly woman with difficulty breathing. Medics transported the woman to UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

11:50 a.m.: A two-car motor vehicle accident was reported at 574 Main St. No injuries were reported.

12:43 p.m.: A person came into the police station to report their car stolen, but found out it was recovered by Yarmouth Police. A report was taken.

1:09 p.m.: A caller from Surrey Lane reported three men selling cleaning supplies without a permit. When police responded to the area, the men said they would stop for the day and obtain a permit.

1:10 p.m.: A suspicious man was reported being seen at 5 Industrial Dr. using a telephone. Police spoke to the man and was advised there are no problems.

1:26 p.m.: A caller near the corner of Broning and Longfellow Roads reported seeing a green dirt bike riding down the road. When police responded, the bike was gone.

1:57 p.m.: Fire and EMS responded to 70 Clinton St. where a woman was not breathing, but was alert at times. EMS transported the woman to UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

2:07 p.m.: A two-car accident was reported at 476 Boston Tpke. with no injuries.

2:41 p.m.: 911 was called from 34 Crescent St. for a man who was possibly seizing. Fire and EMS responded and the man was taken to UMASS Medical Center, Worcester.

3 p.m.: A fire was reported at a playground at 1017 Main St. Firefighters responded and put out the fire.

4:27 p.m.: A caller from 21 Florence St. reported a group of youths causing a disturbance near a flag pole at a business. Police responded and the complaint was unfounded.

4:27 p.m.: A driver was stopped at the corner of North Quinsigamond Avenue and Audubon Drive and given a verbal warning.

4:39 p.m.: A person reported she lost her wallet at 476 Boston Tpke. A report was taken.

4:41 p.m.: A driver was stopped at the corner of Route 9 and Maple Avenue and issued a civil citation.

4:57 p.m.: A driver was stopped at the corner of Route 9 and Maple Avenue and given a verbal warning.

5:04 p.m.: A cab driver at the corner of Route 9 and Maple Avenue reported a dispute because he did not believe his passenger would pay the fare. The passenger said the destination is in Worcester and police said for the cab driver to call Worcester Police if the passenger did not pay.

5:12 to 5:22 p.m.: Three drivers at the corner of Route 9 and Maple Avenue were issued a written warning.

5:31 p.m.: Northborough Police are reporting a vehicle at 1000 Boston Tpke. was traveling with an unsecured infant in the car. All police officers were notified.

5:40 p.m.: Eric Ledoux, 21, of 205 Lake Ave., North, was arrested at the corner of Route 9 and Maple Avenue and charged with speeding and operating under the influence of drugs.

7:41 p.m.: A caller from Crane Circle is reporting a suspicious, black van in the area attempting to sell vaccuum cleaners. When police located the van, they spoke to the driver and advised him of the town bylaws violation. He was sent on his way.

8:08 p.m.: A driver near the corner of Maple Avenue and Taft Road was issued a verbal warning.

8:59 p.m.: Paul M. Baer, 46, of 82 Willow St., Clinton, was arrested at 152 Hartford Tpke., and charged with speeding and operating under the influence of liquor, second offense.

9:09 p.m.: Two drivers near the corner of Clinton and Bow Streets were issued verbal warnings.

10:53 p.m.: A caller from Green Street reported a suspicious car in the area of Appaloosa Drive in a new development. When police responded, they found two people talking.

11:37 p.m.: A driver at 520 Boston Tpke. was issued a civil citation.
