Police Log: Break-in on Lamplighter Drive, Citations on Route 20

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

12:01 a.m.: A distressed animal was reported in the woods by 78 North St., Police checked the area.

12:14 a.m.: Police received a 911 call for a loud group of youths in the area of 7 Hickory Dr. Police responded and spoke to the parties.

1:39 a.m.: Multiple 911 callers reported a small sedan in the area of 123 Old Mill Rd., causing a disturbance. The sedan was gone upon police arrival.

9 a.m.: A party in the lobby reported his house on Commonwealth Avenue was egged sometime overnight. He requested a log entry only.

4:15 p.m.: Northborough Police put out a be on the lookout notice for a suspect wanted for larceny of a bicycle on Main Street and their town. He was last seen in the BJ's parking lot.

6:37 p.m.: A caller from 524 Boston Tpke. reported there was a car in the lot, occupied by three teenagers harassing people for money. Police responded and spoke to the parties.

6:40 p.m.: A caller reported a break-in to his home on Lamplighter Drive. Police confirmed there was a break-in and took a report.

7:30 p.m.: A caller from South Quinsigamond reported an erratic operator heading toward Route 9. Police made contact with the vehicle in the White City lot, and spoke with both the operator and the reporting party. It was a possible road rage issue.

9:05 p.m.: An officer wanted it logged that there was a vehicle repeatedly stopping in front of homes along Oak Street, specifically in the 200-300 block.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

10:24 a.m.: Police went to do a well-being check at a residence on Arbor Circle and confiscated a machete.

11:01 a.m.: Police were doing traffic enforcement on Route 20 at Purinton Street, and issued more than a handful of citations and written warnings within two hours.

1:15 p.m.: Police and paramedics responded to the area of 5 Meadowstreet Rd. for a 16-year-old male who was injured from a fall. Medics were advised that the injury was due to an altercation. The teen was taken to UMass.

4:57 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Route 9. Police responded and did not find the vehicle.

5:48 p.m.: Security at 8 Centennial Dr. reported hearing gunshots behind the building. Police responded with the assistance of Grafton police; the suspect was advised to stay off the property near the high tension wires.

6:20 p.m.: A caller reported a verbal dispute in a hotel room at 235 Boston Tpke. Armando Rivera, 46, of 2 Lafayette St., Worcester, was arrested on a default warrant for motor vehicle violations, and taken into protective custody.

7:39 p.m.: A caller reported a man and a woman having a verbal dispute on Westport Dr. Police responded and found the parties were arguing with their teenage son.

10:28 p.m.: Police were called out to a car in the area of 222 Maple Ave. Police requested a tow for the vehicle and took a woman into protective custody.
