Police Log: Skunk, Bat, Woodchuck Keep Animal Control Busy
The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Arrests or charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Sunday, Aug. 12
12:29 a.m.: A caller was involved in a road rage incident that resulted in a crash on Hartford Turnpike. Police responded. There was no damage to the vehicles; the people involved spoke to Worcester police.
12:57 a.m.: A caller from Hartford Turnpike reported a larceny of a motorcycle helmet.

2:15 a.m.: A caller found a purse outside of his home on Prospect Street. Police retrieved the property and tried to contact the purse's owner.
3:10 a.m.: A caller from Toblin Hill Drive advised his ex-girlfriend was at his address causing a disturbance and damage to his property. Police responded to the scene and requested paramedics to the scene for a woman with facial injuries. Police brought the woman to UMass, but she signed a patient refusal there. She was taken back to the and advised of her rights. Police will be seeking warrants for the suspect.

3:19 a.m.: An officer attempted to stop a vehicle on Route 9. The car struck a pole. Police arrested , 34, of 16 Hemlock St., Apt. 1, Worcester, and charged him with operating under the influence and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
4:52 a.m.: responded for the report of a Dumpster fire on Bracken Road.
9:50 a.m.: A caller from Eastwood Road reported a dispute over sump pump drainage. The parties were spoken to.
11:29 a.m.: A caller reported a male in custody for shoplifting at on Boston Turnpike. Police will be seeking a warrant to charge the man, who was given a no trespass order.
3:49 p.m.: Police were attempting to locate a man on Toblin Hill Drive. Jonathan Winn, 21, of 36 Toblin Hill Dr., was arrested and charged with assault and battery.
10:29 p.m.: Police received a noise complaint on Canna Drive. The homeowner was spoken to and said they would quiet down.
11:26 p.m.: A caller reported loud banging noises coming from 120 Crescent St. Police responded and found the homeowner was doing renovations.
Monday, Aug. 13
12:18 a.m.: A woman reported that a "tall, white male," was looking in her window on Elm Street. Police responded and used thermal imaging to search the area; no one was found.
2:13 a.m.: A caller reported that a woman was walking around Arbor Drive, and that she might be drunk. Police responded and found out she was locked out of her apartment. The Fire Department assisted.
3:07 a.m.: A caller reported three people with a flashlight in the cul-de-sac on Old Salem Circle. Police responded and were unable to locate the people.
7:43 a.m.: Animal Control removed a dead skunk from Maple Avenue.
9:48 a.m.: Police received a 911 call for a snake in their garage on Nightingale Drive. Animal Control responded, removed the snake, and released it into the yard.
1:15 p.m.: A caller from Maple Avenue reported parties were selling vacuums door-to-door. The parties were advised of the town bylaw and sent on their way.
3 p.m.: Police received a 911 call for a missing 1-year-old child on Main Street. Police responded and the child was located nextdoor at her grandparent's house.
6:42 p.m.: Animal Control retrieved a bat from Kenilworth Road and sent it off for rabies testing.
6:44 p.m.: Animal Control responded to Vista Drive for a woodchuck that was eating a homeowner's garden.
8:38 p.m.: A caller advised a man in a boat was heading toward the south side of Lake Quinsigamond, yelling for some unknown reason. He also did not have lights on the boat and could not be seen by others. Police responded; the complaint was unfounded.
Tuesday, Aug. 14
6:59 a.m.: A caller reported two paddle boats were removed from her property on Old Faith Road and were located on the lake. She believed she knew who the suspects were. She requested a log entry to make police aware.
