Police Log: Elusive Raccoon; Snake Complaint

The last day's log is full of animal complaints, ranging from a raccoon who was twice spotted, but not found by police, and a dog running through traffic.
Wednesday, April 25
8:25 a.m.: responded to Egret Circle for a snake complaint. The snake was removed.

9:09 a.m.: Animal Control investigated a raccoon complaint on Brightside Avenue. The animal was gone upon arrival.
10:22 a.m.: A caller reported a raccoon walking on Westport Drive. The animal was gone upon arrival.

1:33 p.m.: A loose pitbull was reported on Taha Drive.
3:17 p.m.: A caller from Stoney Hill Road reported someone was going around soliciting for a security system company. Police spoke to the person and advised him to file for a solicitors' permit.
3:48 p.m.: A caller from , 19 Boston Tpke., reported an ex-employee was causing a disturbance. Police started to respond and then were advised their assistance was no longer needed.
4:02 p.m.: Two females were reported to be soliciting in the Richard Avenue area. They were advised to seek permits.
5:58 p.m.: A hitchiker reported to be in a "bad spot," at Rtes. 140 and I-290 was advised to move along.
7:07 p.m.: A Main Street caller said a woman had lost control of her dog, which was running in traffic. Police responded and the dog went home with its owner.
7:41 p.m.: Loss prevention from a business in the Shrewsbury Shopping Plaza, 571 Boston Tpke., reported shoplifters. Kelliann Slaughter, 19, of 20 Trowbridge Ln., Shrewsbury, was arrested and charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
