Police Log: Illegal Dumping, Teen Takes Car

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Thursday, Aug. 23

9:02 a.m.: A Prospect Street resident went to the lobby to report vandalism to her residence. Police responded and advised there was no damage to a telephone pole on her street; a box truck may have taken down the line.

9:58 a.m.: Paramedics responded to a business at 940 Boston Tpke. for an employee who had a facial injury from machinery. The employee was taken by ambulance to UMass.

11:07 a.m.: Police received multiple calls for a deceased crow on Robertson Drive. Animal Control advised the caller of instructions for removal.

11:46 a.m.: A caller from Gage Lane reported two Jehovah's Witnesses were going door to door. Police had checked on the parties earlier and confirmed they were Jehovah's Witnesses.

3:52 p.m.: A caller from the area of 731 Boston Tpke. reported a male and a female were begging for money in the parking lot. Police responded and did not find the pair.

5:08 p.m.: A caller reported illegal dumping on Oak Street. An officer called for extra patrols of the area.

8:02 a.m.: An anonymous caller reported a person was walking in the area of Kenda Road and Oak Street, checking on homes with no cars. Police responded and talked to the man; he was out for a walk while waiting for his wife to get home from work.

9:32 p.m.: A person went to the Police Department lobby to report he was assaulted by another male while in the parking lot.

Friday, Aug. 24

3:40 a.m.: A caller reported her 16-year-old son took her car without her permission. The teen was stopped in Northborough; the mother went there.

6:30 a.m.: A woman in the lobby turned in a wallet that she found in the area of 785 Main St. Police turned it in to evidence.
