Police Log: Neighbor Dispute; Dogs Reunited with Owners

The police log from the last several days includes a few reports of loose dogs who were reunited with their owners, a shoplifting arrest and a neighbor dispute.
Monday, April 23
8:10 a.m.: A loose greyhound was reported in the area of Main and Holman streets. The reunited the dog with its owner.

10 a.m.: A Main Street resident went to the to report mailbox vandalism from the previous night.
3:25 p.m.: A Faulkner Road resident returned home and thought there may have been a house break-in. There was not; it was miscommunication with the alarm company.

5:23 p.m.: A person went to the Police Department lobby with a dog she said she found at Dean Park. Animal Control was notified and contacted the owner, who went to retrieve the dog.
5:32 p.m.: A Vista Drive resident reported her husband was fighting with their neighbor outside. Police responded and spoke to the parties.
7:50 p.m.: A person found a dog on Bailey Road. There were no tags on the dog, but the dog and its owner were reunited.
9:54 p.m.: A caller from CVS, 197 Boston Tpke., reported a shoplifter had just left the store. Police stopped the vehicle and the items were returned to the store. Police will be seeking a summons to charge the alleged shoplifter.
Tuesday, April 24
5:33 a.m.: A breaking and entering was reported at the Dean Park concession stand at 785 Main St.
11:53 a.m.: A Maple Avenue resident reported a Publishers Clearinghouse scam. The caller was advised not to give out any personal information; the caller wanted police to log the event in case there were more incidents.
5:39 p.m.: Michael W. Winders, 46, of 177 Crescent St., Apt. 1, Shrewsbury, was arrested on Boston Turnpike on two warrants: one for larceny over $250 and the other for shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
6:46 p.m.: A Phillips Avenue resident reported getting harassing phone calls from his ex-wife.
8:33 p.m.: A suspicious vehicle was reported in the Independence Lane neighborhood. Police spoke with the vehicle's occupants; they were picking up furniture.
Wednesday, April 25
12:51 a.m.: A man went to the station to speak to an officer regarding a domestic dispute he had with his girlfriend. Police responded to a Janet Circle address and the woman was not there. They had Worcester police check an address in the city but she was also not there. Police filed a report.
1:27 a.m.: Police were out with a man acting suspiciously in the area of 271 Boston Tpke. He was spoken to.
1:38 a.m.: A Parker Road resident reported someone was ringing her doorbell. The complaint was unfounded.
