Police Log: Overnight Parking Violations, Break-In on Sewell Street

Monday, Nov. 5
7:50 a.m.: A caller reported a vehicle parked in the wrong direction near Maple Avenue causing an issue with bus traffic.
11:13 a.m.: An officer assisted a resident on Colonial Drive who had a furnace that would not shut off.

11:56 a.m.: An officer assisted with the installation of two car seats for twins.
12:21 p.m.: A caller from Birch Brush Road reported a past break-in.

4:17 p.m.: A resident turned in old ammo at the Shrewsbury Police Department.
4:53 p.m.: A caller reported a road rage situation that occurred on Route 9 westbound. An officer spoke with both people involved.
8:40 p.m.: An officer responded to a report of ATVs in the Florence Street area. The officer was unable to find the ATVs.
Tuesday, Nov. 6
12:53 a.m.: Officers issued two parking tickets on St. James Road, Main Boulevard, Washington Street, Artemas Avenue, Oriole Circle, Harvard Avenue, Knollwood Drive, Willow Street, Old Farm Circle, Hillando Drive, Knowlton Avenue, Bay View Drive, Edgemere Boulevard, Lakeside Drive, Shannon Drive, Tanager Drive and Jane Drive.
8:53 a.m.: A caller from Eaton Place reported three motor vehicles parked in dead end with people inside them. An officer responded and spoke to the people who were filming a movie.
12:17 p.m.: The Animal Control officer spoke to a resident of Lear Street regarding a loose dog that was reportedly attacking chickens.
4:44 p.m.: A caller reported a break-in on Sewell Street. Officers responded to investigate the incident.
5:23 p.m.: A caller reported a hit and run crash on Hartford Turnpike. The tractor-trailer that had left the scene returned. One person was taken to the hospital.
7:01 p.m.: A caller from Arbor Drive reported overnight vandalism to her van.
11:35 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a hit and run crash on Cottage Avenue. A criminal application was issued for one of the drivers.
