Police Log: Rope Swing Complaints, Locked-Up Kid
The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Aug. 3
7:20 a.m.: A caller reported some type of gathering and people driving by beeping their horns at 499 Main St. Police were advised there was a pancake breakfast and no disturbance.
9:10 a.m.: There was a two-car motor vehicle crash with personal injury on Route 9 and South Street.

10:23 a.m.: There was a report of a gravel spill on Hartford Turnpike. MassHighway was notified.
11:23 a.m.: A caller from 370 Hartford Tpke. requested to speak to an officer regarding cars turning around in the lot daily.

11:46 a.m.: Police returned a lost dog to its owners on Golden Hill Avenue.
12:20 p.m.: The responded to Sewell Street and Greenbriar Drive for the report of construction equipment on fire.
12:55 p.m.: A person went to the to report harassing phone calls and text messages.
1:41 p.m.: Animal Control removed a possum and babies from Power and Worthington avenues.
3:45 p.m.: A person went to the Police Department to speak to an officer about slander and harassment. Police determined it was a civil matter.
4:34 p.m.: Police received a call reporting a child and a pet were locked inside a motor vehicle on Boston Turnpike. The child unlocked the door; both the pet and the child were OK.
6:24 p.m.: A lawn mower and weed wacker were reported stolen from a shed on Mars Drive.
7:39 p.m.: A caller reported a rope swing was up again on Coast Guard Island. Police were aware of the swing but unable to take it down at that time.
7:42 p.m.: A man was arguing with a manager over a purchase in the plaza at 87 Boston Tpke. All parties were spoken to and the manager was going to be requesting a no trespass order.
8:34 p.m.: A female caller again requested a boat to check on Coast Guard Island. The caller was advised no one was on the island.
10:13 p.m.: A cab company requested officers respond to Boston Turnpike for two females who were unable to pay for a fare. Police advised one female was able to find money.
10:29 p.m. Police put out a be on the lookout notice for a 19-year-old Auburn girl who was driving a stolen vehicle. The young woman was the daughter of the vehicle's owner.
Saturday, Aug. 4
1:24 a.m.: A caller from Hartford Turnpike said his/her motor vehicle was vandalized sometime during the night. Police advised there were grass clippings on the hood from grass being mowed.
1:42 a.m.: A man in the South Quinsigamond/Grace Avenue area was stopping cars attempting to get a ride. He ws taken into protective custody.
10:29 a.m.: Two men were attempting to trade in a stolen vehicle at Performance Vehicles, 939 Boston Tpke. Environmental police and North Reading police were called.
2:09 p.m.: State police transferred a call about a pregnant woman walking on 290, not feeling well. Medics and the Fire Department responded, and backed off once the young woman's dad picked her up.
5:01 p.m.: An officer advised the rope swing was back up; it was going to be removed once lake traffic subsided.
5:29 p.m.: A caller reported a breaking and entering that occurred sometime during the day at 8 Pond View Dr.
8:20 p.m.: Two officers cut down three rope swing on Coast Guard Island, and removed gatherers.
11:51 p.m.: Police received an anonymous report for a loud group of people at 22 Vinnie Way. The owner said things would quiet down.
