Police Log: Sibling Dispute, Ding Dong Ditch

The following information was provided by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Aug. 9

9:17 a.m.: The requested assistance responding to 564 Lake St. for the report of illegal blasting. Police responded; all was fine.

11:08 a.m.: Police made note of a white pick-up truck, occupied by a man and a woman, that was circling the neighborhood near Tanager Drive. The pair had scrap metal in the truck.

11:12 a.m.: A woman was stuck in an elevator at 36 N. Quinsigamond Ave. The Fire Department responded.

12:39 p.m.: An employee from, 507 Boston Tpke., reported a customer took his vehicle without paying. Police left a message for the owner.

12:52 p.m.: A be on the lookout notice was put out by Northborough police; they were looking for a 2003 Hyundai occupied by two men who were involved in a larceny of a 42-inch tv from Wal-Mart.

3:26 p.m.: The Fire Department was advised of a car that was in the median across from Exit 22 on I-290. Medics transported one person to UMass.

3:29 p.m.: A caller reported a vehicle occupied by two men was parked at 524 Boston Tpke. Police responded and found the vehicle was inoperable; when it was fixed, they were going to leave.

4:47 p.m.: Police responded to an Oak Street home for the report of a verbal dispute between a man and his brother. At 5:42 p.m., police responded again to the home and removed one party.

7:11 p.m.: A caller from Boston Turnpike and Industrial Drive reported a domestic that was taking place inside a motor vehicle.

7:41 p.m.: Police received a call from a Boylston Street resident who was not at her home. She said two men were at her house removing her belongings. Police responded and spoke to the men, who were friends of her husband. They said they would be returning the property. All parties were spoken to. Locks were changed and further calls to the address would be considered a breaking and entering, police said.

8:16 p.m.: Larceny by check was reported by a resident of Francis Gardens Court.

10:03 p.m.: A caller reported a suspicious person wearing all black, walking eastbound on the westbound side of Route 9. Police did not find the person.

10:05 p.m.: A caller from Guinevere Circle reported a group of youths ringing doorbells and running. Police did not find the kids.

Friday, Aug. 10

12:48 a.m.: Police received a complaint of loud music coming from an apartment at 70 Commons Dr.

9:45 a.m.: Police received the report of a past domestic on Flagg Road. Police were going to be seeking a summons to charge a man with assault and battery.

3:48 p.m.: A caller from Spring Street reported finding an older beagle. The dog didn't have any tags. The owner called police and the dog was returned.

4:37 p.m.: Worcester Police reported that Metro PCS on Grafton Street in Worcester was robbed by an armed man. Police issued a be on the lookout notice for the suspect.

5:57 p.m.: A caller reported flooding in the roadway on Harrington Avenue. 

6:08 p.m.: Police advised MassHighway of flooding on Maple Avenue and Boston Turnpike.

6:13 p.m.: Paramedics transported to UMass an 8-year-old girl who had fallen down stairs on Thestland Drive.

9:43 p.m.: Police received a call for a group of teens on Floral Street who were in a physical altercation. Officers responded and found the teens were playing a game.

Saturday, Aug. 11

4:08 p.m.: A caller reported a man had fallen asleep at the wheel at Route 140 and Wesleyan Street. Police responded.

5:13 p.m.: State police transported a man into the station;on a restraining order violation.

6:37 p.m.: A caller from Rawson Hill Drive reported a breaking and entering that occurred sometime in the last two weeks. Police took a report.

8:45 p.m.: Police received several reports of fireworks going off near Tanager Drive. Police searched the area; all was quiet.
