Police Log: Sign-Holding Joker, Parking Lot Sleeper

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

8:16 a.m.: A caller from Grafton Street reported vandalism to their mailbox again overnight. Police took a report.

1:25 p.m.: responded to 20 Hillside Dr. for the report of a large coyote in a resident's backyard. The coyote was gone upon police arrival.

5:25 p.m.: A passer-by on Boston Turnpike and South Street reported an individual was standing at the corner wearing a joker's mask and holding a sign. Police responded and spoke to the man.

6:39 p.m.: A Elizabeth Street resident reported being harassed by a neighbor. Police responded and spoke to the party.

6:48 p.m.: A well-being check was requested for a female on Arbor Drive. A man wanted police to check on his girlfriend, who "seems intoxicated and (was) speaking Latin, which she does not know." Police responded; the woman was fine.

6:58 p.m.: A "suspicious black male" wearing dark clothes was reported to be looking around the back of a house on Crescent Street. Police responded and did not find any suspicious parties.

Wednesday, Aug. 29

2:20 a.m.: An employee from CVS on Route 9 said a woman in the parking lot was sleeping in her car. Police responded; the woman was waiting for her prescription to be filled.

5:54 a.m.: A caller from 469 Grafton St. reported two males broke into her motor vehicle.
