Police Log: Woodchuck Captured, Lost Child Returned

The following information was supplied by the Shrewsbury Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Monday, Aug. 20

9:15 a.m.: A caller from Memorial Drive reported a suspicious van parked in the drop yard. Police responded and were advised that the party was performing an audit for UPS.

9:20 a.m.: A caller wanted to log information that her daughter was approached on Ireta Road by the park at noon by an older black female in an unknown car asking if she had any bags of clothes.

9:30 a.m.: Two "clean-cut" men were going door-to-door on Old Faith Road. The parties were advised of the town soliciting bylaw, and sent on their way. They were staying at the Worcester City Motel.

10:58 a.m.: A caller from Clinton Street requested an officer for a lost child located, with no parents around. Police responded and the child was returned to a family member who lived across the street.

1:16 p.m.: A person went to the to report his motor vehicle was broken into on Grafton Street sometime overnight Friday. Police took a report.

3:39 p.m.: Police responded to Arbor Drive for the report of a mother having a verbal argument with her two teenagers. A report was taken for a verbal dispute.

4:06 p.m.: Police responded to a neighbor dispute on Main Circle. The dispute was over the property line and one neighbor removing surveyor stakes. The other neighbor decided not to file a report.

4:17 p.m.: A man called police, saying his wallet was stolen off the dashboard of his vehicle on Main Street.

4:26 p.m.: A caller from St. James Road reported he had a woodchuck captured in a trap. responded.

5:24 p.m.: Animal Control assisted a Rockwell Drive homeowner with bat-proofing her chimney.
