Police Log: Woodchuck on the Loose

Wednesday, Aug. 8
10 a.m.: An officer advised dispatch he spoke with a party regarding a lawn service that was blowing grass clippings into the roadway at Prospect Park.
11 a.m.: A Dumpster fire was reported at 160 Boston Tpke. The assisted.

11:32 a.m.: There was an unattended death of a 71-year-old woman on Afra Drive.
1:37 p.m.: A caller from Maple Avenue reported a past breaking and entering with two bicycles stolen.

3:32 p.m.: A caller from Wingate Street reported his sister and male friend stole checks from him. A report was taken.
4:25 p.m.: State police requested paramedics and the Fire Department for a truck rollover between exits 22 and 23. The Worcester Fire Department and Worcester paramedics were notified.
5:12 p.m.: A caller reported an oil slick in the roadway on at Route 140 and Gold Street.
6:41 p.m.: A firearm was reported stolen from 28 Bridle Path. Police took a report.
7:31 p.m.: A caller requested to speak with an officer regarding a resident releasing a woodchuck onto his property. Police responded and checked the area for the woodchuck; it was gone on arrival. The matter was resolved between the parties.
8:05 p.m.: A man from Ashwood Circle said his 17-year-old son was causing a disturbance; he wanted him removed. Police responded.
11:10 p.m.: A loud pool party was reported in the area of Kemble Drive. Officers spoke to the parties involved and were told they would quiet down for the night.
Thursday, Aug. 9
12:43 a.m.: An officer was advised of a gas line being struck at Hartford Turnpike and South Street. The Fire Department and NStar responded; the gas was shut off.
2:10 a.m.: A caller from North Quinsigamond Avenue said a female at that address would not exit his vehicle. While the man was on the phone with police, the woman left the vehicle. No police assistance was needed.
