Private School In Shrewsbury Went Into Lockdown After Social Media Threat Meant For School In Canada
The school resumed normal operations after detectives discovered the threat was meant for a school in Winnipeg.
SHREWSBURY, MA — A private boys' high school in Shrewsbury went into lockdown on Tuesday after a security threat meant for another school.
On Tuesday morning, the Shrewsbury Police Department received a report that an individual had seen a possible threat to Saint John's High School on social media. The school, at 378 Main St, was placed on lockdown, and multiple police officers were dispatched to the campus.
Officers conducted a security sweep of buildings and the campus. After looking into the social media post, it was discovered that the threat was directed toward a different Saint John's High School in Winnipeg, Canada.

A detective contacted the school and confirmed they received the threat on Monday, and that the school resumed normal operations.
"There is no known threats or safety concerns at this time to St. John’s High School or any other schools located in the Shrewsbury community. We appreciate the cooperation and professionalism of the St. John’s community during this upsetting event," the police department wrote in a statement.
