  • Bad Teacher, from Columbia Pictures. "The proudly crass Bad Teacher certainly has great big gobs of greasy, grimy potential, chief among them its central performance by an exceedingly game Cameron Diaz, but it occasionally fails to nail the dismount."
  • Driving Miss Daisy (Special Edition), from Warner Bros. "Winner of the Academy Award for best picture of 1989, this gracefully moving drama, adapted from the hit play by Alfred Uhry, chronicles the 25-year friendship between a stubborn, aging Southern widow (Jessica Tandy) and her loyal chauffeur (Morgan Freeman)."
  • Through the Eyes of the Vikings: An Aerial Vision of Arctic Lands, by Robert Haas. "Continuing the aerial photography that gave such visual command to his previous National Geographic titles, Through the Eyes of the Gods: An Aerial Vision of Africa and Through the Eyes of the Condor: An Aerial Vision of Latin America, Haas now trains his lenses on the regions that transect the Arctic Circle."

  • Being Alive and Having to Die: The Spiritual Odyssey of Forrest Church, by Dan Cryer. "Through his pulpit at the prestigious Unitarian Church of All Souls in New York, Reverend Forrest Church became a champion of liberal religion and a leading opponent of the religious right."
  • I Didn't Ask to Be Born: (But I'm Glad I Was), by Bill Cosby. "In this hilarious new collection of observations, Cosby brings us more of his wonderful and wacky insights into the human condition that are sure to become classics."
  • Beyond Tallulah: How Sam Wyly Became America's Boldest Big-Time Entrepreneur, by Dennis Hamilton. "Beyond Tallulah, the illustrated biography of Sam Wyly, the most versatile big-company entrepreneur in American history, tells one of the most compelling untold business stories of our time."
  • When We Walked Above the Clouds: A Memoir of Vietnam, by H. Lee Barnes. "In When We Walked Above the Clouds, Barnes tells what it was like to be a Green Beret, first in the Dominican Republic during the civil war of 1965, and then at A-107, Tra Bong, Vietnam."
