Parking Ban Up for Vote

The selectmen's meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight at the town hall, 100 Maple Ave.

The Board of Selectmen will be meeting tonight at 7 p.m. to discuss the parking ban for a portion of Plainfield Avenue near Route 9.

Residents have expressed concerns because of the visibility and were asking selectmen to ban parking at the north end of the street. Selectmen have discussed the matter with town officials and are expected to approve the parking ban.

In other business, the selectmen will be discussing the cable franchise amendment with Tom Josie.

They will also be voting on liquor licenses for various events in town and looking to re-appoint a member of the Registrar of Voters.

The selectmen are also expected to go into executive session after the business portion of the meeting concludes to discuss collective bargaining, pending litigation and value of real property.
