Sept. 24 Police: Accident on Leads to 2 in Hospital, One Arrested for Child Endangerment and OUI; Alarm Won't Stop

The following are excerpts from the Shrewsbury police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Sept. 24

  • At 8:34 a.m., police responded to a report of a hit and run on Hartford Turnpike
  • At 12:22 p.m., police responded to a two-car MVA on Boston Turnpike
  • At 2:19 p.m., a resident reported a missing garage door opener
  • At 2:42 p.m., the animal control officer responded to the report of a sick squirrel on Maple Ave. The squirrel was put down
  • At 3:42 p.m., police responded to a MVA on Boston Turnpike. Two were transported to UMass with injuries. Jeremy Brown, 5 Quinapoxet St., Jefferson, was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment of a child, marked lanes violation, OUI, negligent operation of a motor vehicle

Thursday, Sept. 25

  • At 8:50 a.m., a person reported a needle on the sidewalk, Muzzy Ave.
  • At 10:23 a.m., police responded to a person reporting that his iPad was stolen from his car on Stoney Hill Road
  • At 1:03 p.m., police responded to a report of two men approaching vehicles and trying to open them at 378 Main St.
  • At 2:57 p.m., police responded to a report that an alarm has been sounding at 14 Robertson Drive for two days
  • At 4:02 p.m., a resident found a backpack that belongs to someone on Grafton Street. The item located was a purse stolen earlier in the day. Owner contacted.
