Shrewsbury Police: Arrest for OUI After Crash; Teens Put Rope Across Road; Woman Chases Another With a Bat
The following are excerpts from the Shrewsbury police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Oct. 17
- At 7:36 a.m., a resident at 12 Oak St. Terrace says there is a bat with a broken wing on her front stoop.
- At 10:21 a.m., police responded to a hit and run in a parking lot on Boston Turnpike
- At 11:05 a.m., the animal control officer advised that a squirrel was hit by a car and it is still alive, Westmont Road
- At 11:41 a.m., police were informed that there was a white van with handicapped people inside with no operator, Main STreet
- At 11:56 a.m., a resident visited the lobby to speak with officers about threats, Forest Ave.
- At 1:51 p.m., a person in the lobby reported possible identity fraud, Sherwood Ave.
- At 3:55 p.m., a resident reported seeing a person dumping yard clippings in a restricted area across the street from a home on Latura Street
- At 3:50 p.m., police received a report that a female in a BMW appears to be ill on the side of the road, Main Street
- At 6:04 p.m., police responded to a two-car MVA on Route 20/Lake Street. Gilbert Oquendo, 59, 34 Parker St., Worcester, arrested and charged with OUI. No injuries.
- At 6:45 p.m., a person reported seeing a female chasing someone with a bat, Boston Turnpike
- At 7:07 p.m., police responded to a dispute between two guests at a hotel, 235 boston Turnpike
- At 7:36 p.m., a deer was struck at 1000 Main Street
- At 8:05 p.m., it was reported that some youths were putting a rope across the road on Crescent Street. When spotted, they ran. They were located and parents spoken to.
