Shrewsbury Police Department Welcomes Newest Officer

SHREWSBURY, MA — The Shrewsbury Police Department welcomed its newest full-time officer at a ceremony.

Officer Jonathan Santimore, a lateral transfer from the Holden Police Department, was welcomed to the police force at a special swearing-in ceremony, Shrewsbury police shared in a news release last week.

Officer Santimore, who served in Holden for 24 years, brings a wealth of law enforcement experience. He has worked as a dispatcher, patrolman, detective, traffic officer, school resource officer, acting sergeant, and union president, according to the Shrewsbury Police Department.

He is also certified as a sexual assault investigator, field training officer, and Taser instructor. Officer Santimore also holds a master’s degree in criminal justice, the police department said.

This news comes a little over one month after the Shrewsbury Police Department celebrated three new police hires, including Officer Anthony Quinlivan, Special Detail Officer Judy Lam, and Special Detail Officer Peter Fontanez. The town also recognized Detective Chad Chysna's promotion at their swearing-in event on Friday, Jan. 30.
