Elsie Kaye Gift Shop &amp; Artisan Studio In 2009, on a whim, Holly Kenny took a flameworking class and learned to make glass beads. This sparked a love of glass art and led to the launch her business, Elsie Kaye Gift Shop and Art Studio in downtown Westborough. Holly currently teaches flameworking and metalworking at her studio and is on the faculty at the New England Craft Program in Williamsburg, MA. Holly loves the fluidity and movement of glass and enjoys incorporating metals, enamels and other elements that can change the texture and appearance of the glass. As a result, much of her work takes on an abstract, organic feel. Her work, under the name Elsie Kaye Glassworks, can be found at more than 50 boutiques and galleries across the country. Holly is passionate about promoting emerging local artists by selling their work at her retail shop, as well as helping to foster connections with new and existing businesses in the local area. She is an active member of her community, where she has lived with her husband and two children since 2006.

A lifelong Shrewsbury resident is one of two new hires to the Northborough Police Department. Chief Mark Leahy announced to the Board of Selectmen that Michael Bisset, 23, and Joseph Donahue, 28, will join the department effective Jan. 16.  Donahue attended St. John's High School and graduated from Brown University in 2007 with a degree in geological studies. Donahue's father is a sergeant in Boylston, and he also has a brother in the secret service and another brother who works as a postal pager. Donanue is also an accomplished rower who has spent time as a crew team coach. He graduated in the top 10 of the police academy class. The hires fill two vacancies in the department. Ryan Caneen took a position in the Worcester Police Department, and Shane DiDonato left at the end of last year to return to his hometown of Dudley, where he took a position on their police department.
