Shrewsbury Sewer Commission Announces Vacant Position

The Town Manager is seeking a qualified person interested in serving on the Board of Sewer Commissioners to fill an unexpired term set to expire on June 30, 2021.

The Board of Sewer Commissioners is comprised of three (3) members appointed by the Town Manager for a term of no longer than three (3) years.
The Board of Sewer Commissioners, established under Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 41, Section 63, acts upon abatements and petitions for sewerage, reviews and approves all applications for sewer extension permits, and reviews the financing of proposed construction. The Sewer Commission is also responsible for the implementation, administration, and enforcement of the storm water management by-law. Under this by-law, the Commission will also be responsible for the development, implementation, administration, and enforcement of a storm water utility.

The Board meets on the second Monday of the month, at 7pm at Town Hall. The Commission acts upon abatements, petitions for sewerage connection, and financing proposed construction.
Interested persons must be registered voters of the Town and are asked a submit a letter of interest and qualifications to Kevin J. Mizikar, Town Manager, 100 Maple Avenue by mail, or email to amartinez@shrewsburyma.gov no later than 4:30 pm on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
