Shrewsbury's Master Plan Update: The Bidding is Open
Shrewsbury hasn't had a master plan update in more than 10 years.

Shrewsbury has not gone through a comprehensive master plan update since 2001. The town plans to start the process this year for this massive update, and the bidding is now open with a deadline for Request for Proposals of July 17 at 1 p.m.
As described in the document:
"The Town of Shrewsbury, acting through its Planning Board seeks proposals from professional planning consultants to prepare a Townwide Master Plan Update with community participation, and a review of the Town's existing Zoning Bylaw and regulations in order to incorporate the goals of the Master Plan. Shrewsbury has not undertaken a Comprehensive Master Plan Update process as described in MGL Chapter 41 Section 81D, since 2001. The Master Plan Update is expected to take approximately one year, with a planning horizon of ten to 15 years, and will provide a basis for decision-making about land use planning and redevelopment, budget preparation and capital improvement planning for public facilities and services, and economic development for Shrewsbury's future. The allocated budget for the Master Plan Update is $75,000. "
Town Planner Kristen Las said the upates will call on residents' input, and the master plan incorporates such factors as land use, open space, eco-development and public function.
