Storm Debris Being Evaluated by Town
The selectmen will meet Tuesday night to discuss the needs of storm debris removal in the town.

At the moment, the Town Manager is evaluating the amount and type of storm damage sustained by property owners over this past weekend. He will report his findings to the at a special meeting to be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30. What, if any, special program for debris collection will be announced Wednesday morning.
Currently, the only program available to handle storm debris is the Fall Yard Waste Pickup Program when leaves, grass and yard waste will be picked up at the curb on regular rubbish collection days during the following weeks in the Fall of 2011:
Oct. 17 - 21
Oct. 31 - Nov. 4
Nov. 14 - 18
Nov. 28 - Dec. 2
Yard waste must be in the 30 gallon paper bags and lined up at the curb by 7 a.m. Brush will be picked up if it is no larger than 3 inches in diameter, cut into 4 foot lengths and securely tied into bundles.
Currently, for any brush greater than 3 inches in diameter, homeowners should contact a tree removal contractor with the ability to chip brush on site. Homeowners who reside within the Asian Longhorned Beetle (ALB) regulated area should also make sure that the contractor hired is ALB compliant.
